About Jana Vikas
Jana Vikas is a voluntary organization established in 1988, registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860.In Odialanguage “Jana” means ‘People’ and “Vikas” means ‘Development’. It has dedicated itself as sustainable development to the common cause of poor, marginalized, social ethnic groups like Adivasi, Dalit, Minority and Other Backward Communities of Kandhamal district, Odisha.

Jana Vikas visualizes a holistic & sustainable society where the people live in unity amidst diversity based on social and human values of justice and equity.

Mission

Our Mission is to sensitize, organize, enable, empower and develop  the poor and marginalized especially the Adivasi, Dalit, and OBCs to respond to their issues, needs, problems and vulnerabilities by using their existing potential, strength and resources through collective reflection, decision and action and bring forth changes for common benefits.

Core Objective:

Encourage sustainable livelihoods grounded in gender perspective, free from poverty and hunger through management of natural, human and government resources.

Initiate people centered advocacy for changing into humanitarian standards of policies, programs and provisions in favor of poor, indigenous and marginalized sections of the society. Promote values, culture, peace, social justice, and harmonization.
