Culture and tradition are the part and parcel of life. Kandhamal has a rich indigenous culture which reveals their identity. It has been seen that with the advent of modernization the old age cultures and traditions are vanishing day by day.
Jana Vikas has taken an initiative to revive, preserve and promote the age old indigenous culture of people in Kandhamal. We have been adapting several strategies performing folk dance at villages, GP, Block, State and National level. We also organize State Level Cultural Program at Prashanti Cultural Resource Center, Surubali near Mahasingi under K. Nuagaon block every year to promote the local dance, music, instruments and songs from the villages and encourage village level cultural team, individual person and artists.
