On dated 9. 4.2019, The Barefoot Communicators Mrs. Mamata Pradhan from Gadadi village, Mrs. Mami Pradhan from Badabanga Gram Panchayat, Mrs. Rashmita Pradhan from Budukeju village had identified an issue of family dispute and went on processing and resolving the issues and to establish peace in the family as well as in the society. The barefoot women taken keen interest and initiative to sow their interest and leadership and could able to process the issue.
The boy belong to Hindu family name Mr.Susanat Pradhan son of Mr. Runga Pradhan village Sitapanaga under Bdabanga Gram Panchayat of Daringbadi block had married to a Christian girl Name Srimanti Prdhana, daughter of Suku Pradhan and Suadei Pradhan of Takimaha village under Tilori Gram Panchayat of Daringbadi block, due to practice of bad habits like liquor, Ganjei and beating the women had left the husband and went away to Fathers house, on the other hand the boy had forced the girl to practice and adopt Hindu religion and beliefs, this way the conflict arose in the family splitting for 3 months, they had a baby of 3 months. Mr.Susanat had no way than to ask apology.
The barefoot women identifies the issues and made an enquiry to the issue by travelling the village and interacting with the boy, then they decided to conduct a village meeting to negotiate both family, the village president, PRI members were involved in the meeting, parents from both the family and the villagers had a meeting but the villagers and the Mrs. Srimanti had the decision to negotiate if Mr. Susant leaves all bad habits and change his behaviour and attitude then only the problem can be solved.
The barefoot women counselled and discussed with the villagers and with the parents of Mrs. Srimanti but could not be solved, finally another date was decided to seat again for the matter to solve. The Barefoot women also agreed to the decision. The women leader also explained the intension of their intervention that they need to bring peace in the family as well as in the village solving this sensitive issue. They had to travel long distance of 22 Kilo Mitres taking time, energy and hardships any how the issue has to be resolved.
The Barefoot women did not get disappointed and waited for some days to decide again, finally on dated 26.4.2019 the Barefoot women once again travelled to that village and organized a meeting with the villages, they made effort to solve the issue by counselling both the family members and the husband and wife, an agreement was signed up and declared by the villagers to refrain all bad habits and beating, Mrs. Susant agreed to the statement and promised not to do any mistake further and shall obey the decision of the family. And finally the issue was resolved, the broken family became one, the villagers from Takimaha also appreciated to the initiative taken by the Barefoot Women and thanked them.
